"Imperfect Reflection" is a thought-provoking artwork that conveys a deep idea of unequal and one-sided emotions through sculptures. The use of color, direction of wire, and gaze of the sculptures all contribute to the multifaceted nature of the artwork, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences and interpretations. The depth and complexity of the artwork make it a compelling piece that resonates with the human condition and encourages contemplation and introspection.

The idea for Imperfect Reflection came from a moment where I realized how differently two people can experience the same relationship. What feels balanced and mutual to one person can feel distant or uneven to the other. I wanted to capture that quiet imbalance, the way one figure can be reaching while the other is withdrawing, even when both believe they are trying. The wire, positioning, and subtle tension between the sculptures stemmed from observing real interactions and emotions, both mine and those around me. The piece evolved from that deeply personal realization, making it not just an artwork but a visual journal entry of that time in my life.

This artwork beautifully explores identity, empowerment, and transformation. Two magenta-toned female portraits on translucent panels symbolize the multifaceted nature of womanhood, blending strength and vulnerability. Intersecting black frames evoke societal constraints while also representing resilience and support, transforming barriers into tools for growth. The vibrant colors and transparent layers celebrate diversity and unity, urging viewers to rethink frameworks and honor the complexity of women’s experiences. It’s a powerful statement on courage, empowerment, and redefinition.

This piece was inspired by conversations with women from different cultures and generations who shared how their identities were shaped by both pressure and possibility. Hearing their stories made me think about how growth often happens in the spaces where limitation and strength meet. I wanted the artwork to feel like a quiet dialogue between those experiences, capturing the moment when someone realizes their power despite the expectations placed on them. The layered panels reflect how identity is never singular but built from memories, challenges, and victories, making the artwork both personal and universal.

Brain of Three

The brain installation in question is truly unique, as it presents a multi-layered concept that can be interpreted differently. On one hand, it could represent the stages of brain activity across various age groups, with each stage depicted distinctly. The bright and sparkling section could represent the youth's vibrant and energetic brain activity, full of ideas and creativity.

The sustainable burning candles symbolize the steady and consistent brain activity of middle-aged individuals, characterized by stability and endurance. And the calm and stable section could represent older individuals' serene and composed brain activity, marked by wisdom and experience.
